Andrea Boardman, John Eccleston, and Gordon Inglis (I think) present this episode of Disney Club from the morning of Sunday, 24th March, 1991 (again: I think). I'm afraid the recording wasn't complete and I've had to cut out all the cartoons anyway, so all that's left is a quarter of an hour or so, but hopefully that's still more than enough to take you right back to the era.
Keep an eye out for the mailbag section where loads of viewers have sent in letters, drawings, and other creative stuff, a glimpse at some sort of bouncing shoes the audience members are wearing, plus a piece about the newly-invented and unnecessarily convoluted sport of "Suckerball". It's strange how the accessibility of it is listed as a strong point, considering you need a suitable ball, suckers, skates, and two broom handles and a dustbin lid per goal. I wonder if it will ever catch on.
The now-customary (for this YouTube channel) ad breaks are present and correct, with special mentions going out for the Milky Way red car/blue car sequel, the Tempo Kids Club, and a great NES one around 9:50. Those last two are both still referring to our half-shell friends as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, and I'm really not sure when all that silliness ended. And in case you're wondering what I've removed from this vid, there was a computer-colourised 1933 Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto short named Puppy Love, and bits of Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers and Gummi Bears.
There aren't enough cartoons from the 1930s on the telly these days.
Many thanks to David for providing said tape.
