This car has been laid up for some time and requires a lot of work. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to take it on. but there's no harm in trying. I have owned 2 Standard eights before but they were all driveable , both of them projects but driveable. I love the look of the cars great for little local car shows. I use my Morris Oxford every day and is also a great car. Just looking for a challenge to be honest and I think this maybe it. The Standard Eight was a British car produced by the Standard Motor Company. Introduced in 1953, it was a small, rear-wheel-drive saloon with a front-mounted engine. The Standard Eight was a practical and well-engineered car, though not glamorous or exciting, and it was relatively affordable. The Standard Eight was the first post-war small car from Standard-Triumph. It replaced the Flying Eight and Standard 8hp models. The car was known for its practicality, fuel efficiency (around 45 mpg), and light controls. It had a rear boot that folded forward to extend the load area, which was also sealed against dust and rain. An upmarket variant of the Standard Eight, known as the Standard Ten, was introduced in 1954 with a more powerful engine. #automobile #classic #cars #fyp #historiccars #vehicles #vintagecars #classiccars #britishcars
