Mānasa, Jānāsi Vā? is a personal Śrī Rāma Bhāva Geetha—a song born from an intimate devotional experience of inexplicable ānanda.
The song begins with a simple question to the mind:
“Mānasa, jānāsi vā pramodam?”
O mind, do you know the reason for this joy?
The answer unfolds as a deeply personal vision of Śrī Rāma, the devotee's Ārādhya. Rama comes near and lovingly says:
“वत्स, अत्र आगच्छ” — “Vatsa, atra āgaccha”
“My child, come here.”
What was once a dream becomes reality. His words fill the devotee's ears; tears fill the eyes; the heart becomes purified. With tender vātsalya, Rama holds the devotee's hand and, as the experience deepens, reveals Himself not merely as the worshipped Lord, but as “my Father.”
“मद्पिता मां स्वाङ्के स्थापयत्”
My Father placed me in His own lap.
Overwhelmed by the experience, the devotee becomes unable to speak:
“वक्तुं न शक्नोमि गद्गदस्तावत्”
In that state, overwhelmed with emotion, I cannot speak.
The song finally leaves us with a question rather than an answer:
“किमियं निश्चलता? भक्तिर्वा? वृत्तिर्वा?”
What is this stillness? Is it Bhakti? Or merely a Vṛtti—a state of the mind?
This is not intended as a formal stotra or traditional hymn. It is simply a Bhāva Geetha—a humble expression of a devotee's love, wonder and surrender at the feet of Śrī Rāma.
May every devotee who listens to this song experience, in their own heart, the loving call:
“वत्स, अत्र आगच्छ” — “My child, come here.”
