The Epic of Gilgamesh, often called the oldest epic in the world, start to finish in about 25 minutes: a king nobody could stop, a wild man made by the gods, the monster of the Cedar Forest, a goddess he said no to, the Bull of Heaven, the death of his best friend, a walk through a mountain in total darkness, the Waters of Death, the one man who survived the great flood, and a snake.
