And I couldn't agree more. Diez, where our BnB Apartment was lies against this amazingly well preserved and gorgeous Alt Stadt. Renown for it's timber framed ( Fachwerkhaus) homes and unique Dom ( Cathedral) this has it all for tourists who seek culture, architecture and a journey back in time. Granted city rights in 1214 by King Frederick II - it has continued to flourish and shine to this day. The Dom (St. George's Cathedral) is being cared for by the state- a huge and expensive undertaking, to repair and restore this historic building. Unique in it's design. We had a fabulous day - walking the cobbled narrow streets and gazing at the structures which lined them. Stunning just doesn't even cover it.
