Ndindi Nyoro refuses to apologise in Parliament — and is suspended for five sitting days! 🇰🇪🔥 Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has refused to apologise to Parliament after making claims about the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) share offering and alleged pressure on public institutions to invest in the company. Nyoro alleged that the NSSF, Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) and Kenya Re had received calls from a senior government office directing them to invest in KPC shares. He was challenged to provide evidence supporting the allegations or withdraw his remarks and apologise. (Capital FM Africa) But Nyoro stood by his statements. He asked for two more weeks to provide evidence, but Speaker Moses Wetang’ula rejected the request. Nyoro then told the House that he could not apologise because he believed what he had said was the truth. (The Star) The Speaker subsequently ruled that Nyoro would be excluded from conducting business on the floor of Parliament for five sitting days. Nyoro can attend Parliament but cannot participate in debates, motions or other House business during the suspension. (The Star) Nyoro has maintained that he was not given sufficient time to substantiate his claims and says he will continue raising questions about the management of public resources and investment decisions. (The Star) In this video, we break down the Ndindi Nyoro Parliament drama, what he alleged about KPC shares, why Speaker Wetang’ula demanded an apology, why Nyoro refused, and what his five-day suspension means.
