SCT Logistics express high speed intermodal service 3PG1 is bound for Goobang Junction West NSW, where SCT has their intermodal terminal, around 40 minutes away. The train exits Yarrabandai Loop after the passing of west bound Aurizon/TGE intermodal with 6023 & ACD6072. A special feature of this train is the use of "High Cube" PBHY vans, these only run between Goobang Junction NSW and Perth WA. The first High Cubes were built by Gemco Rail in Forrestfield WA, however, the last two orders were built by CSR-Meishan (now known as CRRC-Meishan) in China. This service operates twice per week in both directions and mostly has the "CSR" class locomotives rostered, however, in this video SCT005 makes an appearance with CSR007. SCT is the only rail freight operator in Australia using "High Cube" van style wagons. The SCT class locomotives are EMD model GT46C-ACe with 15 built by Downer EDI Rail at Newcastle NSW between 2007 & 2008. Powered by a two stroke V16 turbo charged EMD 710G3C prime mover delivering 4,300hp, published track speed is 115KMh. The SCT class are closely related to the Pacific National "TT" class and the former "Locomotive Demand Power" leasing company "LDP" class. The SCT class are equipped with "in-line" locomotive refuelling for the Trans Australia railway crossing over the Nullarbor Plain. SCT has a total of 24 Chinese built "CSR" class locomotives built by the CRRC Group in Ziyang, China. The first 12 (CSR001-CSR012) were built by CSR Ziyang (merged with CNR to form CRRC in 2015) with CSR001 delivered on the 22nd of July 2011 at Ziyang. Known as the "First Generation" locomotives these 12 are in the standard red, white and black SCT livery and three or four feature the "SBR" branding as does CSR007 in this video. The last 12 units were delivered in 2022 and are the "Second Generation" series (CSR013-CSR024), they are easily identified with the new silver and red based livery. Powered by a German made V20 MTU Freidrichshafen turbo charged 20V4000R43L model prime mover delivering 4,220hp. Published track speed is 115KMh. 1335hrs on Friday 29th of August 2025.
