Two Sisters and a Dream 1952 — They arrived with nothing but faith and a plan | Classic Movie Noir

Two French nuns arrive in a small New England town with an ambitious dream: to build a children’s hospital. With no money and little support, they rely on faith, determination and the kindness of strangers to make their plan possible. Their mission brings them into contact with a skeptical composer, a wealthy landowner and a community that slowly begins to believe in what they are trying to accomplish. Come to the Stable is a 1949 American comedy-drama directed by Henry Koster and starring Loretta Young, Celeste Holm, Hugh Marlowe, Elsa Lanchester and Thomas Gomez. Produced by 20th Century Fox, the film blends gentle humor, faith and human drama in a story about perseverance, charity and community spirit. It was inspired by the real-life efforts of two French nuns who founded a hospital in Connecticut.
