🚶‍♂️ WALKING TOUR | QUÉBEC CITY 🇨🇦 | History, Charm & Fireworks Along the Saint Lawrence River ✨ Join me on a walking tour through Québec City, one of the most fascinating and historic cities in Canada. In this journey, we will explore the streets of Old Québec (Vieux-Québec), discovering historic landmarks, beautiful architecture, street musicians, hidden passages and spectacular views along the Saint Lawrence River. Our walk begins beside the Parliament Building of Québec, in the beautiful Inukshuk / Inunnguaq Commemorative Garden. From there, we walk past the impressive Parliament Building before continuing toward the magnificent Tourny Fountain. We then follow St-Louis Street, one of the historic streets of Québec City, where we encounter a couple of talented street performers playing a beautiful melody on the accordion. The atmosphere is the perfect introduction to the historic heart of the city. 🚪 We continue toward the Saint-Louis Gate, one of the historic entrances through the fortifications surrounding Old Québec, the only fortified city in North America north of Mexico. Once inside the old walled city, we discover the Winston Churchill Monument and continue along historic St-Louis Street, eventually passing beside the world-famous Château Frontenac, one of the most recognizable landmarks in Québec City. But the walk doesn’t end there… We make our way downhill along La Côte de la Montagne, heading toward the waterfront, where we discover one of the more unexpected parts of the route: a hidden staircase next to EXMURO. After emerging from this little secret passage, we find ourselves directly in front of the beautiful Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, in the historic Place Royale. Our journey continues along Dalhousie Street, leading us toward the waterfront and finally to Place des Canotiers, where we enjoy spectacular views of the Saint Lawrence River. 🎆 And then comes the grand finale… From Place des Canotiers, we watch an impressive fireworks display launched from a barge on the Saint Lawrence River, lighting up the night sky above Québec City. This is more than just a walk through Québec. En este Walking Tour recorreremos algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos del Vieux-Québec, descubriendo calles históricas, monumentos, arquitectura, música callejera y rincones escondidos de la ciudad. Nuestro recorrido comienza junto al Parlamento de Québec, en el jardín conmemorativo donde se encuentra el Inukshuk / Inunnguaq, y continúa frente al imponente edificio del Parlamento hasta llegar a la espectacular Fontaine de Tourny. Desde allí seguimos caminando por la Rue St-Louis, disfrutando del ambiente de la ciudad y de la música de una pareja de artistas callejeros que acompaña nuestro recorrido con su acordeón. Poco después atravesamos la histórica Porte Saint-Louis, una de las puertas de las antiguas fortificaciones que rodean el Viejo Québec. 🏰 Entramos así en el corazón del Vieux-Québec, recorriendo sus calles cargadas de historia, pasando por el monumento dedicado a Winston Churchill y continuando por la histórica Rue Saint-Louis hasta llegar al impresionante Château Frontenac, uno de los edificios más reconocibles de Québec City. Pero el recorrido todavía guarda algunas sorpresas… Descendemos por La Côte de la Montagne en dirección al puerto y descubrimos una de las zonas más interesantes del recorrido: una escalera escondida junto al EXMURO, que nos permite abandonar momentáneamente las rutas más conocidas y llegar hasta la parte baja de la ciudad. Al salir del pasaje nos encontramos directamente frente a la hermosa Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, en la histórica Place Royale. Continuamos después por Rue Dalhousie hasta llegar finalmente a la Place des Canotiers, desde donde disfrutamos de una espectacular vista del río San Lorenzo. 🌉 Y para terminar este Walking Tour por Québec City, llega uno de los momentos más especiales: un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales lanzados desde una barcaza sobre el río San Lorenzo, iluminando el cielo y el paisaje nocturno de Québec.
