In this first session of the Introduction to Spatial Epidemiology training for health researchers, the facilitator provides a practical introduction to how spatial data and geographic methods can be used to understand and address public health challenges.
In this session, you will learn how to:
-Explain the intersection of spatial data and public health
-Identify different types of maps
-Differentiate between effective and ineffective maps
-Transform data into maps
-Create maps using R
This session is designed for health researchers, medical students, health workers, and practitioners interested in using R for research, data analysis, and evidence-based practice.
The R for Fun Club provides a supportive, hands on space for health researchers and practitioners to strengthen their R programming skills after each class.
The Afredac Ubuntu Platform is a pan-African peer-to-peer network dedicated to enhancing health research and data science in Africa. It’s a free space for health and data researchers working on African projects to connect through training, share experiences, develop innovations, and drive discoveries across the continent.
