3.2.2 Measures of Variation - Introduction to Biased and Unbiased Estimators

This video is a supplement for MATH 2193: Elementary Statistics at Tulsa Community College. The related material can be found in section 3.2 of Essentials of Statistics, 6th edition, by Triola. In this video, we introduce the ideas of biased and unbiased estimators, and relate these to the (n-1) in the denominator of the sample variance formula. We'll discuss biased and unbiased estimators in more depth when we talk about sampling distributions in chapter 7.
