Due to the Nor'easter storm battering the region, multiple outdoor music festivals had to be cancelled last minute. One of the victims was All Things Go NYC, which would have been held at Forest Hills Stadium. I had tickets for Sunday in order to see Carly Rae Jepsen and Muna. While I was too busy with going to Phoebe Bridgers shows at Barclays for the last three days, I was still bummed to not be able to see them. CRJ seems to have a beef with Mother Nature as she's had a couple of shows cancelled on her due to storms. She's always found a way to salvage the nights by finding another venue, and Sunday's show was no different. The show was moved to the 1000 person capacity Irving Plaza and tickets were a mere $15. Carly always ceases to amaze me with her dedication and generosity towards her fans.
Carly dropped a new album "Day and Night" recently and this happened to be her first show after the release of it. While I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, I have faith in her that she puts on quality pop music. From what I've heard live, I can attest that the album should be rather solid.
I got in with my cousin, her boyfriend, and my friend Summer, and found there to be so many tall fans in the crowd, so we migrated to the balcony. It was a great view from up there and we were still very close.
The footage is lower quality than usual as I'm having to shoot on my phone. My Sony camera currently has issues with the SD card slot being jammed and not accepting cards. I'm either going to have to try to replace the component myself if I can trust my tech skills, or pay a camera repair store up to $300 to replace it. Sigh, at least I don't have many concerts coming up but it is rather annoying.
