Oasis - Live on MTV Most Wanted (18th August 1994)

Oasis Location: London, England, U.K Venue: Camden Studios Date: 18th August 1994 Source: Broadcast Recording Making an appearance on MTV Most Wanted, Liam and Noel along with Bonehead played two songs on the show. The first of these being Whatever, it’s first known live performance and it’s played by Noel on acoustic guitar with Bonehead on the Mellotron. Whenever the song was played the ending of the song would be different on select shows, and tonight they end off the song with All The Young Blues. Also played is Live Forever as it’s their newest single. Again it is played with the same arrangements being played for the first time acoustically. This show is also very important as it’s the first known show with Noel on backing vocals in both Whatever and Live Forever, and helps fill the gap of “you and I are gonna live forever” that Liam refused to fill after he stopped doing falsetto. Talking of Liam, he sounds does fantastic here and it shows in an acoustic environment that he has a great soft sound to his voice not often heard in this era. Following this show the band would do a performance at the Astoria Theatre in London later on the same day. This is a strong performance to hype up the release of the Definitely Maybe album.
