Romy and Gable Roelofsen talk about community opera Uprising | Opera Zuid

The choir plays a key role in the community opera Uprising. Just before the summer, all the choir members came together for the first time at Theater Heerlen. Composer Jonathan Dove and librettist April De Angelis were there to talk about the opera, rehearsals took place and measurements were taken for the costumes.   In this video, directors Romy and Gable explain what the opera is about and why you should come and see this impressive production.   Uprising runs from 13 to 24 November in Maastricht, Heerlen, Tilburg (concert version) and Eindhoven. For full details, visit the link in the bio @operazuid or go to operazuid.nl/uprising.   Uprising is a coproduction of Opera Zuid, De Nationale Opera and Het Geluid Maastricht, in collaboration with the Limburgse Koorschool, PLT and Theater aan het Vrijthof. A big thank you to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for granting permission to use their 2025 recording of Uprising.   Video: Bjorn Frins facebook.com/operazuid instagram.com/operazuid
