It provides a modern interface for creating and selecting player profiles, changing display preferences, registering DLC folders, validating content, reviewing scan results, launching the game, and exporting diagnostic information. Profiles can maintain separate player identities and user data while sharing the main song library. The goal is to make the PC version feel like a complete application rather than a loose collection of files and manual configuration steps. PERFORMANCE The footage in this video is running at approximately 120 FPS according to the debug overlay. Higher-frame-rate presentation is still being evaluated for complete gameplay, animation, camera, audio, and timing correctness, but the current build can already render menus, venues, performers, lyrics, and note highways at high frame rates. Because this remains active development, performance and compatibility may vary depending on hardware, controllers, content, and configuration. CUSTOM SONGS AND DLC The project is being designed around scalable content management. Supported Rock Band 3 content can be registered and scanned through the configurator, with reports for valid, missing, duplicate, or potentially incompatible files. Long-term development goals include stronger CON/custom-package validation, safer content isolation, improved searching and filtering, large-library indexing, and more streamlined import workflows. Compatibility is still being tested, so not every custom song or package should be assumed to work perfectly yet. PROJECT GOALS The objective is to preserve the complete Rock Band 3 experience while making it feel at home on a modern computer. That includes: • Faithful gameplay and presentation • Reliable controller and instrument support • Stable local profiles and save data • Better diagnostics when content fails • Large and responsive music libraries • Correct 60 FPS gameplay, with experimental 120 FPS support • A polished, easy-to-use desktop configuration experience • Safe and reversible customization • Long-term preservation of one of the greatest rhythm games ever made This build is still a work in progress. Some components require additional testing, including timing accuracy across different frame rates, complete controller coverage, save-data behavior, edge cases in custom content, and long-session stability.
