Twelve days after playing to 55,600 people at Shea Stadium, The Beatles walked into Elvis Presley's living room in Bel Air, California, sat down on his couch, and for several long minutes not one of the four of them could say a word. It was the night of August 27th, 1965. Both managers had agreed in advance: no press, no photographers, no tape recorders. Fewer than twenty people were in the room, and what happened over the next three hours has been argued about ever since, because not one second of it was ever recorded. This is a true story. This story is documented history. The August 27th, 1965 meeting between Elvis Presley and The Beatles at his rented house on Perugia Way in Bel Air, the no-press and no-cameras agreement between Colonel Tom Parker and Brian Epstein, the guest list, and the December 21st, 1970 White House meeting referred to at the end are historical fact. Where the surviving accounts of that evening contradict each other, this video says so plainly rather than choosing one version. No dialogue has been invented for any real person.
