IPv6 Global Unicast Addresses (GUAs) mimic the original IPv4 plan to ensure unique addresses throughout the Internet. That plan failed with IPv4 because the address space was just too small. Well, IPv6 does not have that problem!
In this video, you will learn the backstory and context of how the Internet's governing rules create a globally unique IPv6 addressing plan. The video begins with the basic numbering system and then shows how human processes dictate what addresses each organization may use. Finally, it provides a basic overview of how to use your unique IPv6 address block within your company.
