We leave names, photographs, rooms, promises, and monuments behind — yet time has no obligation to remember. Inspired by the philosophical idea at the heart of Sara Teasdale’s There Will Come Soft Rains*, **After Us* imagines not the end of the world, but the quiet continuation of it: morning light entering abandoned rooms, nature reclaiming what remains, and beauty existing without anyone left to witness it.
