The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a massive upgrade over its predecessor, focusing on better performance and modern features for adventure touring.
Here are the key highlights of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450:
🏍️ Performance & Engine
New 'Sherpa 450' Engine: It's a completely new 452 cc, Liquid-Cooled, Single-Cylinder, DOHC engine—a first for Royal Enfield's adventure line.
Power & Torque: Significantly more powerful, producing around 40 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque. This is a substantial jump from the Himalayan 411.
Transmission: Comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a Slip & Assist Clutch for smoother shifts and clutch operation.
Ride-by-Wire: Features Ride-by-Wire throttle technology.
Ride Modes: Offers two riding modes: Performance and Eco, both of which can be combined with Switchable ABS settings.
🛠️ Chassis & Suspension
New Frame: Built on a new Steel Twin-Spar Tubular Frame, which is designed to be lighter and improve handling.
Premium Suspension: Equipped with Upside Down (USD) Front Forks (43mm, 200mm travel) and a Linkage-type Mono-shock at the rear (200mm travel).
Ground Clearance: Increased to 230 mm, excellent for tackling challenging off-road terrain.
Wheels & Brakes: Standard Adventure setup with a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel configuration. It has larger disc brakes (320mm front, 270mm rear).
Weight: Has a lower dry weight (approx. 181 kg) than the older model, contributing to better maneuverability.
✨ Features & Technology
TFT Instrument Console: The first Royal Enfield to feature a modern, round 4-inch TFT dash with full-screen Google Maps Navigation (Tripper Navigation) via Bluetooth connectivity.
Switchable ABS: Includes Dual-Channel ABS with the ability to switch off the rear ABS for dedicated off-road riding.
Adjustable Seat Height: The seat height is adjustable (typically from 825mm to 845mm) to accommodate different rider heights. An optional low seat is also available.
All-LED Lighting: Features a new LED Headlamp and an integrated LED rear light (combined tail and stop lamp).
Fuel Tank: A larger 17-litre fuel tank provides a longer cruising range.
Switchgear: New modern switchgear, including a joystick for navigating the TFT display.
The Himalayan 450 is a significant leap forward, making it a much more competitive and capable adventure motorcycle globally.
