We talked about why spec-driven frameworks exist in our AI Stack Players episode — this time, tinitignan natin siya in action. In this episode, we walk through a complete Spec-Driven Development (SDD) exercise using GitHub Spec Kit, building a real Video Game Collection Tracker app from spec to working code.
Instead of prompting an AI agent straight into code, we first write the spec — defining what the app should do, how it should behave, and what "done" looks like — before letting the agent implement it.
🟦 Define the app's purpose and core features
🟧 Write the spec: entities, user flows, expected behavior
🟩 Break the spec into implementable tasks
🟨 Let the AI agent generate code against the spec
🟪 Review, refine, and validate against the original spec
This is Spec-Driven Development in practice — the layer of Agentic Software Development (ASD) that exists precisely because operational apps accumulate cognitive debt over time, and specs keep both you and the AI agent aligned on intent as the project grows. Kung natatandaan niyo yung "Two Species of Web App" discussion namin — ito yung disiplina na kailangan pag hindi na disposable yung ginagawa niyong app.
Sa halip na diretso sa prompts o code, we practice thinking like a systems designer first — kasi maayos na spec, mas maaasahang AI-assisted development.
💬 Question: Ano ang gusto niyong app na i-build gamit ang Spec-Driven Development sa susunod na episode?
