Catholic Sisters Launch Charity Race to Support Special Needs Children | CNCS Zambia

RUN FOR FAITH AND SERVICE 2026 | SISTERS RACE AND RELAY The Communication Network for Catholic Sisters (CNCS), under the Zambia Association of Sisterhoods (ZAS), has launched its inaugural Sisters Race and Relay in Lusaka, Zambia, bringing together Catholic Sisters, athletes, families, sponsors and members of the public for a worthy cause. Held under the theme Run for Faith and Service, the event aims to raise funds towards the construction of a modern kitchen at Chileshe Chepela Special Needs School in Kasama, Northern Province. The school provides education and care for learners with special needs but continues to face infrastructure challenges, including the need for a suitable kitchen to support the children's daily needs. The race combined physical fitness, wellness, community participation and charitable service. It also highlighted the importance of inclusion, compassion and collective responsibility towards children with special needs. Participants competed in different race categories, while families, sponsors and well-wishers joined the initiative to support the school. Zambia Athletics also provided technical support to the organisers, helping ensure the event was conducted safely. CNCS hopes to make the Sisters Race and Relay an annual event, bringing more people together to promote wellness, strengthen community bonds and support initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable people.
