Peter spent 11 years working at Toyota.
Then he decided to take a risk, leave the security of his job and build something of his own.
With five kids and a family to support, it wasn’t an easy decision.
When Peter started, he already had two rent-to-rent units — but he didn’t have the systems, client acquisition strategy or confidence to turn what he was doing into a scalable Airbnb management business.
A few months later, everything looks different.
He’s gone from 2 units to 10, signed his first management clients, built a pipeline of landlord leads and completely changed what he believes is possible for the business.
His original goal?
7 units by the end of the year.
Now he’s aiming for 30.
But this conversation isn’t just about Airbnb.
Peter shares what it actually felt like leaving an 11-year career, the fear of starting again with a family depending on him, the mistakes he made early on, how he started finding management clients, and the mindset shift that gave him the confidence to build something for himself.
If you’re currently working a job and wondering whether you could build something of your own — or you’ve already started an Airbnb business but feel stuck trying to find clients and scale — this conversation is for you.
