The Stunning Beauty of Taman Negara (Malaysia's Largest National Park)

When Habib, Shahnaz, and I set off on the Malaysia Mystery Tour, our first stop was a place called Kuala Tahan. At the time, I didn't know anything about the place. I didn't even fully realize that Kuala Tahan was connected to Taman Negara, Malaysia's largest national park. And even if I did, I wouldn't have know what that meant. I don't have a lot of experience with national parks. I view them as places where you might go for long camping trips for days on end. And I knew that that kind of expedition wasn't part of the plan for the Mystery Tour. So, what would we do there? But I quickly discovered that Kuala Tahan and Taman Negara were special places. Kuala Tahan served as a jumping off point for all kinds of activities inside the national park - long multi-day trips, shorter 2-day trips, 1-day trips, and even half-day trips. And Kuala Tahan itself was an attractive place with a dozen floating restaurants on the shore of the river. And on our one full day there, Habib signed us up for a tour up the Tahan River by boat. And this experience was so amazing that even days later, I found myself lost in a dreamy state as I remembered flowing effortlessly up and down that river through the stunning and thick rainforest on all sides of us.
