Lucius Malfoy arrives at the ruins in Godric's Hollow nine minutes before Hagrid does. He isn't there out of mercy. He's there because his Mark burned and then went cold, and a man who reads power for a living knows what a sudden silence means. He looks into the cot, does the arithmetic, and carries the boy home to Wiltshire. So Harry grows up on long green lawns full of white peacocks. He learns the family trees by heart. He has a little brother with white-blond hair who follows him everywhere. And every Sunday evening, without ever once wondering why, he sits on the edge of the bath while his mother brushes his fringe back with her fingers. He is happy. That's the part that makes the ending so hard. In this video we follow that single changed decision all the way through: the Hogwarts letters that keep arriving to a name nobody in that house will say out loud, the moment Severus Snape looks up at a boy on a staircase and loses his composure for the first time in years, the Sorting Hat that refuses to lie, and the day a failed potion writes a lineage onto a strip of parchment in the Hospital Wing and twelve-year-old Harry reads it over the edge out of pure habit.
