Thoracic outlet syndrome treatment is evolving - and percutaneous balloon angioplasty may be the most underutilized tool in your OBL right now.
In a 1,194-patient study, 74% of nTOS cases resolved with physical therapy alone. Of the 295 patients who confirmed central vein compression and moved on to PTA, 64% avoided open surgical decompression entirely. That is a significant shift in how we should be thinking about this diagnosis before referring to a thoracic surgeon.
This session also covers the practical realities of venous stenting in 2026 and beyond - including how to manage May-Thurner syndrome in patients with nickel allergy, why mechanical thrombectomy economics are still broken for most OBLs, and how to think about primary versus staged stenting after DVT thrombectomy. Panelists break down long-term patency data across dedicated venous stent platforms and make a direct case against routine DAPT in venous disease.
