Putin Just Brought The Draft To Moscow Streets

Several people detained during a police sweep in central Moscow say they received military summonses at police stations, bringing the war directly into the capital's nightlife. The November 7 raids arrive as Putin faces a manpower squeeze: Ukraine reports 54,400 Russian casualties in October, while at least 27 regions have cut military signing bonuses or family payments. Paying for recruits is getting harder as the state increasingly uses its police powers. Beyond Moscow, Russia's army is paying heavily for negligible territorial gains while Ukrainian strikes disrupt export routes that finance the invasion. Rostov's governor says three ports are effectively suspended, with cargo handling down 45%. Grain shipments through southern routes have fallen sharply, and exporters face costly detours. Putin has acknowledged that refinery attacks have hurt national economic output. Commercial banks face rising corporate arrears even as they buy government bonds and depend on central bank liquidity. Moscow's draft 2027 budget calls for higher defense spending while regional payments shrink and civilian businesses struggle for credit. Kremlin officials can order more soldiers and reroute shipments, but every workaround pushes costs onto taxpayers, employers, lenders, and governors. Every option drains money, manpower, or political support from another part of Putin's system. 👏 Become a Channel Member:    / @jasonjaysmart   ⚡⚡Connect with Jason for real-time analysis & verified updates: Substack: https://jasonjaysmart.substack.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2ZHxXDQ...
