MUST NOT CEASE! | DEVOETRY MUSIC Original Devotional Written: November 5, 2012 Must Not Cease! was written during one of those moments when prayer wasn't simply something to talk about—it was all we could do. My brother and close friend Brett Parks had been shot while trying to help during a mugging. He survived, but ultimately lost his leg. While Brett fought and the people who loved him prayed, this devotional was born. It was a reminder that prayer is a lifestyle, not an action. There are moments when we pray and immediately see God move. There are other moments when the answer doesn't come the way we imagined, the circumstances get harder, and we're forced to keep believing while we're still hurting. That is when our prayers MUST NOT CEASE. This song is dedicated to Brett, but its message reaches anyone who has ever stood beside someone they love during a crisis—praying, believing, waiting, and refusing to surrender their faith.
