KAYDEE VISITS THE NEST, CATCHES A FISH & EATS ON TP & SPENDS NIGHT WITH SHADOW IN ROOST TREE 8.29.26

What a wonderful day for Kaydee & Shadow! This video covers the late afternoon & evening beginning with Kaydee's visit to the nest. She certainly likes the nest & the "owner" of the nest - Shadow ♥ Kaydee will preen herself -and notice how those dark feathers on the crown of Kaydee's head seem to molting out and being replaced with the adult white feathers. She will most likely retain some of her beauty mark for a few more months until she reaches maturity (5 years of age) in March 2027. Kaydee is watchful on the nest - she seems to be watching something or someone (Shadow) as he is in the area. Kaydee will fly off the nest and in 3 minutes she will fly to the lake, catch a fish and bring it to Twin Pines and eat on the branch! She is an amazing fisherwoman! Kaydee then feaks her beak on the branch (cleaning it) before she perches till dusk, Kaydee will fly off TP and head to the Roost Tree where Shadow is already there! As she arrives, Shadow's chortles are heard greeting her ♫ ♥ They both perch in their respective spots for the night and settle in. This is Kaydee's 2nd nest visit for today - she visited in the early morning hours after leaving the Roost Tree and she later met up with Shadow in the Roost Tree to perch. Shadow perched for long periods of time today in the Waldo tree keeping a watch over his territory. It was a good day for both eagles as they continue to develop their relationship but still retain some distance. Thank you for watching!
