In 2012, Life OK launched a police crime series called Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath. What started as a relatively straight forward crime investigation show soon transformed into one of the most unusual and unpredictable shows on Indian television.
A few years later, Shapath became Shapath – SuperCops Vs SuperVillains, introducing superpowered villains, supernatural creatures, strange mysteries, and increasingly unconventional storylines.
From Electric-Man and Flexi-Man to monsters, aliens, vampires and werewolves, the show kept pushing its concept further and further.
But what made Shapath so memorable also became one of its biggest problems.
In this documentary, we look at the complete rise and fall of Shapath — how the show started, how B. P. Singh and Fireworks Productions transformed it, why the SuperCops Vs SuperVillains concept became popular, and how constant changes in characters, storylines and the show's identity eventually affected its audience.
We also explore the major revamps of the series, the introduction of new characters, the shift toward supernatural and fantasy stories, the 2016 rebranding as Khookhar – SuperCops Vs SuperVillains, and the show's eventual ending in 2017.
So, what actually happened to Shapath?
Why did a show with such a unique concept eventually come to an end?
Was the constant experimentation responsible for its decline?
Or did the show simply move too far away from what originally made it special?
This is the story of Shapath — from a police crime drama to SuperCops fighting SuperVillains, and eventually one of the most bizarre shows of Indian television.
If you grew up watching Life OK during the 2010s, this one is a trip down memory lane.
Watch till the end to revisit the rise, transformation, decline and legacy of Shapath.
