Why was I born into this world? I lost my husband while I was pregnant, and I've been raising my son alone ever since. Once a year, I go to a large hospital for an MRI and a checkup. This year was my fourth time. On a rainy day, waiting for the results, I thought about my husband, the wedding ring I still wear, and the years I carried everything alone. Nothing had changed, and I could breathe again. That night, conveyor-belt sushi with my son — "I'm glad," he said. Then Daiso and Nitori, just looking. A cold in October. And my honest thoughts about raising a child on my own, as the city gets ready for Christmas. I still don't know the answer. But I have my son, so I'll keep living, one day at a time. 0:00 Intro 1:42 Why was I born into this world? 2:37 The place I go every year 2:51 My yearly MRI day 4:01 "If something happens to me..." 4:41 If I had never met him 5:48 Four years ago 6:44 The results 7:48 Sushi with my son 9:32 Daiso 11:14 Nitori, just looking 12:51 On my own 14:49 The city before Christmas 15:46 But I have my son 16:56 One day at a time I will keep doing my best for my son.
