In this breakdown, we track how Paramount's order to answer Snow White put Fleischer Studios on an 18-month deadline for Gulliver's Travels — from the scrapped Popeye feature idea, to Max Fleischer's rotoscope experiment, to a December 1939 release that ran straight into a world war.
