How well does the Canon R50 V work as a walking vlog camera? Join me for two days along Norway’s beautiful Jæren coastline as I continue testing this compact camera with two different lenses and its digital image stabilisation. On day one, I head to Bybergsanden with the Sigma 15mm F1.4, enjoying a coastal walk and making a detour past the local motocross track. How practical is a fixed focal length lens when filming yourself while walking? On day two, I switch to the Canon EF-S 10–18mm and begin with a walk along Rægestranda. This sandy beach lies just south of Solastranden and is often a quieter alternative to its better-known neighbour. I finish with a walk up to Vigdel Kystfort, a former German coastal fort from World War II, where military history meets the rugged coastal landscape. Throughout both walks, I explore how well digital stabilisation handles footsteps and how the two lenses suit my style of handheld vlogging. Audio is recorded with the DJI Mic Mini. This is a personal, real-world test as I learn more about my equipment while exploring the places I love. Which would you choose for walking vlogs: a fast prime lens or a wide-angle zoom? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for watching The Wandering Teacher.
