MM8BDM v6b "Boss Attack, Normal" in 23:51.34

// LOUD VENEZUELAN NOISES AT 23:42 AND 23:59, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED // i was genuinely going through it for this entire day, been going for a 23:XX since 10am yesterday and i finally clocked this miracle of a run after returning from university at midnight. this is the first time i popped off in any 8BDM speedrun i've done, and for good reason doesn't mean i can't get any better, my best splits in total make a sub-23 run, which means there is still room for improvement, but for now, i can finally rest a bit with this category for a bit. now i gotta lock in on the chapters || IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE PREVIOUS RUN || DarkMan4: i remembered that i did a buster only campaign a while back, a thing i learned is that not only is darkman4's first phase is possible without equipping the proto shield, but also that it's faster by 15 seconds compared to shielding yourself. this is incredibly risky though, you can see i almost died in this run since i have to manipulate darkman's projectiles to avoid dying for not protecting, but i still think it's worth it Gamma's Joe Army: this one was taken from spybot's run, i just optimized it so that it's significantly faster and more efficient. the sniper joes have a weird glitch where they immediately take damage from any explosion their shield blocks, even when this explosion doesn't appear visibly, this means that we can take the joes out much faster than before if we know how to time it right. as a result, my clean-up is about 7 seconds faster than the previous time i did this Genesis Unit: after tinkering around with this fight, i noticed that this boss in particular is completely based on framerules, so we have to talk about public transport from now on when we refer to any boss attack speedrun. jokes aside, even with the time loss i got here, i still improved my previous time in this battle by 12 seconds after figuring out how to get the best framerules i could realistically achieve, though my best time in this fight is about 4-6 seconds faster than the one seen here
