Racing on the Highway | Heavy Metal Rock Music 80s Style

LYRICS: Hunting down experiences beyond the midnight hour A restless moth pursuing the scent of a blood-red flower The wind is set on fire by my four-wheeled shooting star Heading for those orange lights that beckon from afar The towns are sleeping but the sound of music fills the air The people of the night are out to play their crazed fanfare Why should I lie in bed, refuse their invitation? Tonight I choose to leave this room and seek a new sensation CHORUS: Racing on the highway in my hungry, sleepless car Chasing shadows til the rising of the morning star Searching for a promised land in childhood foretold When we would dance under the sun, not tremble in the cold Running by the sea I feel the breeze caress my hair A spectre summoned forth to dance from Night's plutonian lair The black shore is deserted and I have no cause to stay The stars will guide me as I take a dive and swim away When the streets and stores are empty - that's the time for me to roam In the hurry and the chaos I will never feel at home Dazzled by a moment's whim I get up and depart If the moon is shining then it's time to make a start CHORUS So many times in life I've run and hid in fear So many times before I've let you down, my dear But there's one thing I know and I know it well tonight There is a mighty fire that sways and burns so bright Inside the hearts of those that live by their own rules Although the people laugh and point and call them fools But they don't give a damn, they want to seize the day They just get up and go, in December or in May And so I tell you, love, amidst the sands of time All we have is right now and I'm gonna make it mine CHORUS Lyrics written entirely by Cyrus Moon (me).
