So I borrowed two tools built for chronic pain and pointed them at the pain of the learning curve. Pain is pain. If a tool works in one part of your life, it can work in another. In this guided meditation, you'll use your breath as a safe anchor, then gently visit a moment of creative block and get curious about what it feels like in your body. You stay in complete control the whole time, moving at your own pace.
What you'll practice:
→ Somatic tracking: noticing where creative frustration lives in your body, its shape, its temperature, without needing to fix it (it comes from a chronic pain approach that left most patients in a 2022 study pain-free or nearly)
→ Graded exposure: stepping toward the hard feeling a little at a time, then coming back to your breath, so your body learns it's safe
→ Becoming a calm voice inside yourself you can call on the next time you're stuck
Once you have a tool, it goes wherever you go. The more you practice, the faster it works.
I work with people on exactly this at Solarium, my nervous system spa in Makawao, Maui: www.mauisolarium.com
