Some roads test you. The N1 between Louis Trichardt and Venda is one of them. The twists come sharp and relentless, the mountains rise up on either side, and just when you think you've seen the best view — another one appears around the next bend. This drive is everything I love about exploring South Africa by road. But this episode came at a cost. Mid-flight, my drone went down. Gone in seconds, along with every second of aerial footage I'd captured that day. No warning, no second chance — just silence where the footage should have been. It's the kind of moment that makes you question whether it's worth pushing the shot just a little further... and somehow, still coming back for more.
