EF Education-Oatly knows how to bounce back. After Cédrine Kerbaol lost time on the GC yesterday, our squad went on the attack today and Cédrine finished it off with a second place. Magdeleine Vallieres covered the early moves, riding on the front from the start. Eventually the peloton allowed a breakaway of three riders to go up the road though the gap never stretched much beyond two minutes and the bunch reeled them in comfortably. With 45 kilometers to go, Noemi Rüegg, Kristen Faulkner, Mags, and Cédrine were in a group of about 25 riders. Fifteen kilometers later, that group had whittled down to just six riders, including Cédrine. Their advantage over the chasers was slim, bouncing between about 15 to 30 seconds, but it was enough. Coming into the line, Cédrine gave it everything she had, finishing in second place.
