In early spring, wild mugwort grows abundantly in the fields of Guangxi, southern China.
In this video, we harvest fresh mugwort and zong leaves, blanch and chop them, then mix them into glutinous rice flour. The dough is filled with peanut sugar and sesame sugar fillings, and steamed into traditional mugwort rice cakes.
Soft, chewy, and lightly fragrant with mugwort, this seasonal food is loved by both the elderly and children.
This video captures the full process from harvesting to cooking, sharing a peaceful moment of rural life in China.
