The Southampton University Symphony Orchestra holds a pre-term event every year, open to all at the university including freshers, returners and alumni. The orchestra rehearses over 5 days, Monday to Friday, practicing new repertoire to perform in the concert that takes place on the Saturday, led by a student conductor. For pre-term 2026, the pieces performed were Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture, Bizet's Carmen Suite No.1, Marquez's Danzon No.2 and Dvorak's Symphony No.9, conducted by Suzie Knock. - 00:00 Berlioz: Roman Carnival Overture 10:30 Bizet: Carmen Suite No.1 24:10 Marquez: Danzon No.2 -
