How can digital innovation improve the breast cancer care journey, support informed decision-making, and deliver more personalised patient outcomes?
In this Media Lounge interview at MedTech World Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, Dr. Clement Chia, Breast Surgeon and Clinician Innovator at Reborn / NHG Health, Singapore, joins Lindsay Davis, Founder of FemTech Association Asia, to discuss the role of digital health, artificial intelligence, and patient-centred innovation in breast cancer care.
Dr. Chia introduces Reborn, a digital companion designed to support women throughout their breast cancer journey. Using augmented reality and digital animations, Reborn helps patients better understand mastectomy and breast reconstruction procedures. Its latest version, Reborn 2.0, also collects electronic patient-reported outcome measures, helping clinicians monitor quality of life and identify where targeted support may be needed.
The conversation explores advances in breast-conserving surgery, the use of AI in mammogram interpretation, and emerging technologies that could help surgeons detect residual cancer cells during surgery. Dr. Chia also discusses the challenges of bringing MedTech innovations into clinical practice, highlighting the importance of demonstrating patient value, improved outcomes, and cost-effectiveness.
