Icom ID-52 Using the GPS

This video will show you how to use the GPS features in your ID-52 radio. It will cover the various options screens within the GPS menu, Set-up, Information, Position, Alarms, Logger and the Near Repeater feature. It's quite a long video so you can jump to the following sections: GPS Setup - 07:05 GPS Information - 14:35 GPS Memory - 16:28 GPS Alarm - 21:40 GPS Logger - 25:35 Near Repeater - 26:50 During the video I mention a bug in the settings that allow location sharing between tne radios but will not report the position to the aprs.fi website. I corrected this manually eventually when I spotted the error. At the time my radio was on revison 1.21 firmware. Icom have released several firmware updates and as of 09 October 2025 we have 1.27 where the GPS issue has been addressed. Remember when updating ensure both the radio and programming software are at the highest revision.
