According to records, the 1st Zinnia Flower Festival held last year in 2025 at Laii Village, Senapati, Manipur, welcomed over 5,000 tourists — and the actual number could be even higher. Just imagine the scale of it: a remote village, far from the crowds and unknown to many, successfully hosting a festival for thousands of visitors. A village that was hardly known on the map managed to welcome thousands of people with such warmth and beautiful organization. This is the true power of tourism. It is not about one person's profit; it is about community growth. It creates livelihoods for local farmers, homestays, food vendors, and artisans, and provides opportunities for our youth. It puts our culture on the world map and shows what we can achieve when a whole village works together with unity. Manipur has so much to show the world. We have the culture, the landscapes, the traditions, and the potential — now is the high time to focus on infrastructure and development. I have personally been to Laii, and I can say the village has everything — rich culture, incredible unity, breathtaking natural beauty, and warm hospitality. But the roads leading to it are extremely challenging. If the government and concerned departments focus on improving road connectivity and basic infrastructure, Laii and many villages like it can become major tourism destinations. Tourism like this can change the economy of an entire district. It is time to invest in our own land.
