📅 28.02.26: This toilet has shockingly re-opened after being out of order in December, even though I was convinced it had permanently closed since the banner signage had been removed and the door was blocked excessively. The dryer remains as it was when this video was filmed. Here we have an interesting Anda at B&Q. A few Series 5000s have been found at various B&Qs, however this is the first one of this older shape, and also the first one under the Airstream brand. Clearly there was more than one dryer here previously, although I have no idea what they could've been. Whilst this dryer is interesting, its heater has completely failed, rendering it useless at drying hands. Really it has reached the end of its life. Whilst waiting for this toilet I could hear the previous user having difficulties flushing it, and I couldn't get it to when I came in, so I didn't dare open the lid. It has since been sorted though, and now flushes normally. The pull cord in here is rather strange, as there's a standard C-TEC system, however there's also an intercom that's had a pull activator bodged together with the C-TEC cord, meaning that when you pull it the C-TEC system starts beeping and the intercom activates. Having both makes no sense, as all you'd hear through the intercom in the beeping from the C-TEC panels in the room - they aren't exactly quiet! Something rather strange I noticed is that the orange paint is actually covering a row of the teal tiles that B&Q used in all their toilets from this era. I don't get why they've been painted over here and nowhere else, however I feel like it's made the toilet here look older. It really needs a full refit anyway though. The decibel readings featured on this channel are not scientific, and therefore are not completely accurate. I have created a project called decibel database, which allows you to compare dryers, and gives you an overall peak average for each dryer type.
