🔇 Prefer no talking, just the sound of the city? Watch the silent version on Walks in Japan:    • Osaka Midnight Walk 🇯🇵 Honmachi, Semba & C...   ⏩ Short on time? The same walk, sped up, on Fast Walks in Japan:    • Osaka Midnight Speed Walk 🇯🇵 Honmachi, Sem...   A Monday-midnight walk through Osaka's business district, from Honmachi through the sleeping wholesale streets of Semba to the great elevated junction over Chuo-odori — offices dark, shutters down, the city entirely to ourselves — with music and on-screen captions telling the story of each street and building along the way. 📅 Date: Monday, August 17, 2026 ☀️ Weather: Clear 💧 Humidity: ~78% 📍 Distance: about 3.7 km / 2.3 miles 🕐 Start Time: 10:44 PM 📷 Camera: DJI Osmo Pocket 4 (4K) 💬 Captions: Japanese / English The walk starts near Honmachi station just before eleven, when the last office lights are going out. It follows the tree-lined pavements past darkened towers, slips into the narrow lanes of Semba where a single ramen shop still glows, and crosses beneath the massive concrete piers of the Hanshin Expressway junction where Chuo-odori runs east. Past the Semba Center Building — the long low landmark with the expressway riding on its roof — a night road crew is repaving a lane, the only other people awake. The way loops back through the empty wholesale streets to Honmachi as Tuesday begins. 🗺️ Chapters 0:00 Opening 1:03 Honmachi Offices at Night 10:33 Tree-lined Backstreets 18:53 Semba Lanes & a Late Ramen Shop 30:33 Quiet Wholesale Streets 43:53 Chuo-odori & the Expressway Junction 48:23 Semba Center Building 56:33 Night Roadworks 59:03 Back to Honmachi 1:02:40 Closing 🌿 Stays in Japan Slow walks through Japanese cities, with music and captions.
