Designer Marcelle Timonen of Haus of Rowe Interiors explores the details of a stunning family home situated on 30-acres of western Minneapolis wetlands. "We chose to keep the overall feel of the home light and lifted but wanted to infuse a touch of drama in certain areas. We decided to saturate the office in a dark and dreamy color (Soot by Benjamin Moore), this includes the built-in bookshelves, walls and trim, adding a whimsical nature inspired wallpaper on the ceiling and bringing in some warmth with brushed brass library lights and ceiling fixture. This combination creates a room that completely envelops you. We also incorporated some eye-catching patterns and textures throughout to add interest and balance the visual aesthetic. We incorporated several variations of brass for both the light fixtures and plumbing to bring in the necessary warmth to ensure the home feels inviting. The brass and copper elements also provide high contrast against the dark backdrop and play so well together."
