Peacekeeping and Corruption: Taking Stock and Best Practices

Tuesday, 30 September 2014 - The event marked the release of Transparency International-UK's handbook, Corruption Threats and International Missions: Practical Guidance for Leaders. This report provides guidance to reduce corruption in peacekeeping missions as well as within state security forces where an intervention is occurring. The findings of the report and the practical lessons on how to counter corruption and maintain operational effectiveness are timely and relevant, not only for peacekeeping missions in Africa but for broader U.S. initiatives to strengthen peacekeeping capacity, security governance, and defense institution-building on the continent.
