Teacher burnout isn't just about being tired. What if the real problem is how much of a teacher's job happens after the workday ends?

Tonight, we're having a conversation that I think teachers need to have:
What if teachers stopped working for free?
Not stopped caring.
Not stopped doing their jobs.
Not stopped showing up for students.
What if teachers simply stopped donating their evenings, weekends, planning periods, and personal lives to an education system that often requires more work than can reasonably fit inside a teacher's contracted day?
This is a LIVE conversation, and I want YOU to be part of it.
We're going to talk about teacher burnout, impossible workloads, working outside contract hours, teacher guilt, boundaries, and the pressure educators feel to somehow get everything done—even when there simply isn't enough time.
Bring your experiences. Bring your questions. And yes, bring your disagreements.
I especially want to hear your answer to this:
👉 If teachers only worked the hours they were actually paid to work, what would stop getting done?
And maybe an even bigger question:
👉 Would allowing some things NOT to get done finally force the system to confront how much it depends on teachers' unpaid time?

TONIGHT'S CONVERSATION
======================
Teacher burnout is often framed as a problem teachers need to solve individually: manage your stress, practice self-care, become more efficient, or find a better work-life balance.
But there's another question worth asking.
What happens when the workload itself is bigger than the workday?

💬 Have you ever felt guilty for leaving school with unfinished work?
💬 Where do YOU draw the line between dedication and exploitation?
Put your answer in the live chat. I want this to be a conversation with teachers—not simply a conversation about teachers.
