Silly Point | Babar & Shaheen Dropped From T20 Squad! Wasim & Tanveer Debate Selection | 5 Oct 2026

In this episode of Silly Point, hosted by Asif Khan, former chief selector Mohammad Wasim and former Test fast bowler Tanveer Ahmed dive deep into Pakistan’s newly announced T20I and ODI squads, the role of selectors, and head coach Mike Hesson’s growing influence. The panel raises critical questions about squad selection and team management, questioning whether Mike Hesson has been given too much control over running the national setup. Wasim and Tanveer Ahmed debate whether selection decisions are relying too heavily on data rather than ground-level player observations, while addressing why PCB selectors are rarely seen at domestic grounds to observe performances firsthand. The show also features a brief but impactful appearance by legendary former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz. He slams the decision to send a weakened squad to represent Pakistan at the Asian Games and calls on the PCB Chairman to hold the selection committee accountable.
