Mahanadi Dispute Will Be Resolved Soon, Says Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai | Odisha Visit Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, during his Odisha visit, said there is no dispute over the Mahanadi and expressed confidence that the issue will be resolved soon, citing the BJP governments in both Odisha and Chhattisgarh and the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Sai said discussions on the issue had earlier taken place with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Delhi and that the Central Water Commission has been informed to take necessary steps in the interests of both states. The two chief ministers have been pursuing talks and technical consultations on Mahanadi water sharing, with the next CWC meeting scheduled for September 21 and the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal hearing deferred to September 28. During his Odisha visit, Sai also met CM Mohan Majhi at his residence and is scheduled to visit Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar and Jagannath Temple in Puri.
