1467 kHz, 05/02/2022: Special broadcast of an audio archive of Radio Andorra/Andorre, dating from 1979. Transmitter: Roumoules, France Received in Brindas, France (10km South-West of Lyon) - about 240km away from the TX site - on a Tecsun PL-600 (outdoor reception), attached to ~100m of Random Wire This archive has been aired on 05/02/2022 between UTC 19:00 and 21:00, 41 years after the permanent closure of Radio Andorra (09/04/1981). The recorded show, "Carte Blanche", originally aired on July 1st, 1979 was hosted by the French singer Daniel Balavoine. Daniel Balavoine died 7 years later, at age 33, in a helicopter crash, which occured in the Malian desert, during the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally. The fact this archive has been aired on 05/02/2022 is not a coincidence, he would have been 70 on this day. This recording has been conserved in the National Archives of Andorra, and audio has been entirely restored by Christian Milling, radio engineer. The historical transmission site of Radio Andorra is located at Lake Engolasters, in Encamp. Transmission towers are still standing, although they are obviously no longer in use.
